Funding Opportunity Description:The Office of Citizen Exchanges, Youth Programs Division, of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for the FY 2014 Youth Ambassadors Program with South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Canada, and Haiti. Public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501c3 may submit proposals to recruit and select youth and adult participants, to provide the participants with three-week exchanges focused on civic education, community service, and youth leadership development, and to support follow-on projects in their home communities. Exchange delegations will travel to the United States from Canada, Haiti, ten South American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela), eight Central American countries (Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nica

ragua, and Panama), and six countries in the Caribbean (the Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago); U.S. exchange delegations will travel to select countries. It is the Bureau’s intent to award multiple cooperative agreements (one base year plus two option years) for an estimated total amount of $8,475,000. Please see section II.)
